We have four seats open for the vestry and four openings for council delegates. The 2019 Diocesan Council will be electing a new bishop ergo it is vital that we have some well informed delegates representing us at Council in February of 2019. Nominations for Vestry should be given to our Senior Warden, Tony Pierce and nominations for Council should be give to Fr. John. Please be sure to get the permission of an individual prior to nominating them for either position.

Youth Breakfast Fundraiser: On October 27th the youth will be holding a fundraiser at Applebees. For just $5 you can eat pancakes, as many as you want. This not only is a great way to fill your stomachs, but it also helps our youth raise money to go on their mission trip this summer. So come to Applebees Saturday October 27th from 8am-10am and help send our youth to their mission trip.
Parish Meeting: On Sunday October 21st following the 10:30 service we will be holding the parish meeting. Please make plans to come to this meeting as we will be electing vestry members, as well as delegates for diocesan council. We will also be presenting the 2019 budget. Lunch will be served. Trinity will be providing the meat, we are asking for members to bring a side or dessert to share. There is a sign up sheet for desserts and sides on the bulletin board in All Saints.
First Commuion: This Sunday we will be celebrating First Communion for 3 special little children at the 10:30 service. Please plan on coming and joining in these children's first communion.
FALL CONCERT: The Shreveport Symphony String Quartet will perform at the Fall Wanda Summerford-Parker Memorial Concert on Sunday, October 28th at 6:00 PM with a reception to follow in All Saints Hall. This is a free concert, but you will need a ticket to get in. Please call the parish office to reserve your tickets for this great event. The String Quartet will perform the latest compositions of Kermit Polling focusing on the Saints of Church. They have performed through out Texas and Louisiana and were recently featured on EWTN television network.
BISHOP VISITATION: The Rt. Rev. Jeff Fisher, Suffragan Bishop of Texas will visit Trinity on Sunday, November 18th at 10:30 AM. He will preach, celebrate and confirm new members of the parish. There will be a brief reception for Bishop Fisher after the service and then he will meet with the Vestry at 12:30 PM.
THANKSGIVING OUTREACH: It is about that time again, where we will prepare over 1000 meals for Thanksgiving. That are a lot of meals, which requires many turkeys. We could use your help. Please consider helping fund a turkey. We will accept any donation you may give. Please drop donations off at the parish office, make checks payable to Trinity Church and write "turkey" or "thanksgiving" in the memo line. Also, keep an eye out for a sign-up sheet in All Saints Hall looking for volunteers to work on thanksgiving.
DONATION FOR CPS RAINBOW ROOM: The outreach committee will begin taking up donations each week for the rainbow room. This is a room which has much needed items for children and youth removed from home with no more than the clothes on their backs. Workers, and foster care families can visit the room to get items such as clothes, diapers, toiletries, toys, books, etc. The youth group decorated a nice donation bin that will be set in the narthex which you can place items to go to the Rainbow Room. Right now their biggest need is clothes, shoes (especially sizes for teens) flip-flop sandals, underwear, diapers, diaper wipes, and baby formula. If you would like to donate some of these items or other needed items you can bring them with you to church and place them in the Rainbow Room Donation Bin. For more information please contact Fr. Andrew.
ALTAR FLOWERS: Do you want to give the altar flowers for a Sunday but $76 is a bit much for your budget? How about splitting the cost. We will now accept shared donations. If you have a date in mind and want to donate part of the flowers call the office and let us know. The cost of half the flowers is $38.
ALTAR GUILD: The Altar Guild is in need of new members. ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED WE NEED NEW TEAM MEMBERS, LET THE OFFICE KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AT 903-938-4246.
COFFEE AND COOKIE HOUR: We are looking for some kind heart folks to help with the Coffee and Cookie Hour after the 10:30 Am Service on Sundays. If you are will to help contact Sherry Henderson or the Parish Office.
HEARING ASSISTANCE: Some of our parishioners have difficulty hearing the service. Trinity has 4 audio sets for those who have this difficulty. They are located in the charger by the sound console at the rear of the church. If you need some help hearing what is taking place feel free to use one of the headsets to help you hear. Just be sure to place it back in the charger at the end of the service.
ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION:
SUNDAY: ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION CLASSES:
SUNDAY: Adult classes will begin at 9:30 AM
End Times, Past, Present, and Future: Both Old and New Testament offer a great deal to say about End Times prophecy. This class led by Bill Abraham will examine both Testaments to discern how God speaks to His people today on the end of times. This class will begin on Sunday, September 9th at 9:30 AM. It will meet in classroom 1 on the 2nd floor of Fry Hall.
Confirmation Class will be resuming on Sunday evenings at 5:00 PM!
Tuesday: 5:30 PM
Women's Bible Study: We will begin a 6 week study on The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-19) by Priscilla Shirer. We will meet Tuesdays at 5:30 PM at Fry Hall in classroom 1 upstairs. Any and all Women are welcome to attend!
Brotherhood of St. Andrew Bible Study: This bi-weekly study is open to all men of the parish it takes place at Jucy’s and is over prior to 1:00 PM. Each class is a stand-alone class so if you miss one, you can attend and not feel like you are out in the cold.
WE CAN USE SOME HELP: There are currently two ministries that could use some extra help.
Breakfast Cooks: There is a need for one additional family to volunteer to do breakfast. If you are feeling called to this ministry and would like additional information, see Fr. John, Vince Godinich, or Mike DeSa.
Altar Guild: The Altar Guild is looking for ladies to help prepare for our regular services. This ministry is absolutely vital in the worship we celebrate. The Altar Guild helps prepare the Altar and other aspects of our worship. The ladies presently involved do a wonderful service for all of us. Sadly, some of our Altar Guild has had to slow down some of their activities. This has created an ever greater need for new members for the Altar Guild. I would ask the ladies of the parish to pray to discern if they might be called to serve the Lord through this ministry. If you are willing to help with this ministry please contact Fr. John 903-938-4246 or Fr_John_Himes@hotmail.com
Ushers: This is a vital welcoming ministry of the church. Ushers serve on Sundays throughout the year and are also asked to serve at funeral services. The ministry of Sunday focuses on welcoming newcomers. Ushers serving at funerals are reminder to all that at Trinity we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Ushers also assist with other special services during the course of the year. They are the first impression folks get of Trinity Church. If you would like to be involved with either one of those ministries please call Stacey in the parish office at 903-938-4246.
Youth Volunteers: The Youth Minister is looking for a number of volunteers than can help with youth events on a rotating basis if you like to be involved with a terrific group of young men and women call the office at 903-938-4246.
