About Us
Trinity Episcopal Church was founded in 1851 as a parish of the Diocese of Texas, a Diocese of the Foreign and Domestic Missionary Society, an province of the world wide Anglican Communion. The parish has been active in the ministry of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ for over 160 years.
Many of the members of our parish are active in social and justice ministries in the community of Marshall and in greater Harrison County. While this is a historical fact it is also a reflection that Trinity Church is a church that seeks not only to make Christ known, but to live as active disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mission
To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by: Ministering to individuals within and outside the Church, inviting all to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Inviting and fostering the presence of the Holy Spirit for the equipping of His people to do the work of ministry. Witnessing to the power of God to heal, transform and make all things new, and to support those who by word and example make Christ’s redemptive work known. Educating the youth of our community with special emphasis on Trinity Episcopal School.
Vision
Our vision for Trinity Episcopal Church includes expansion of our current facilities, the youth program, community outreach and increased spiritual growth for our congregation. We have resources available to us as a church and we envision using those resources, such as our properties, our members to facilitate implementation of our vision. Finally, we envision continued growth for our Church.
Core Values
We are a Biblically based congregation that values ceremony, traditions and history of the Episcopal Church. We support the growing ministries within our Church and those ministries outside our Church. We strive to meet the needs of those who prefer contemporary worship, those who prefer the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and those who prefer traditional services. We are an open, diverse and welcoming congregation focusing on the future of the Church, The “church Family” and our varied ministries as well as remembering the traditional Episcopal values. We realize our effectiveness is based upon prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
